My New Domain

I finally got a domain! I bought it off Porkbun for the high price of $3.50. It renews for only 20 USD next year, so I plan to keep it. I've wanted my own domain name for a while now, but I thought it was really hard to set up and that you'd need to host it yourself. Turns out it's only mediumly hard, and Neocities does all the hosting stuff. I'm rather chuffed about this, especially since I got exactly the one I wanted. It gives me the same feeling as when you had a really good tumblr handle back in the day. I was the proud owner of official-char-aznable for a good long time, and I revelled in that.

Next month I'm going for my full driver's license. I'm terrified about it. It's supposedly easier than the restricted license test, but so is rocket science, so that's not very reassuring...

Christmas is, of course, coming up. I don't like the stress of trying to work out what everyone would like, but I think I've done a pretty good job this time nailing down all my family members' various interests. This is one of the reasons I try to be extremely easy to buy for; it's just so much easier when someone has clear interests. My sister, for example, loves dungeons and dragons and magic the gathering, so she's nice and easy to buy for. My dad, however, has a few very specific interests: cashews, age of empires, chess, Spanish, and computer programming. So this year I'm going to get him a Spanish food hamper, and god knows what next year.
